10 In-Demand Manufacturing Jobs That Don't Require a Degree

  1. Assembler - Assembles parts, typically on a manufacturing line. On-the-job training is usually provided.
  2. Fabricator - Cutting and creating parts. On-the-job training is usually provided. 
  3. Heavy Equipment Operator - Operating heavy equipment. Sometimes requires additional certification, depending on the equipment. 
  4. Machine Operator - Operating standard manufacturing machines. On-the-job training is usually provided. 
  5. Mechanical Maintenance - Services and maintenance machines and some equipment. Sometimes requires additional certification
  6. Manual Machinist - Sets up and operates standard manufacturing machines. Sometimes requires additional training through trade school or apprenticeship.  
  7. Quality Control - Ensures that products are free of defects. Sometimes requires additional certification.
  8. Solderer - Uses specialized equipment to solder components together. Sometimes requires additional training through trade school or apprenticeship.  
  9. Equipment Mechanic - Repairs and troubleshoots equipment errors. Sometimes requires additional certification.
  10. Tool Crib Attendant - Inventories tools and distributes tools to operators. On-the-job training is usually provided.
